[Day 25, Early Morning] A Game of Koans, Final Exam (Mantis)

The Mantis loyal to the Emperor occupy the southwest tower of the castle, just beyond the final gate. It overlooks the snowed-in mountain pass. Left upon a pillow in the common room is a single koku. Its markings indicate it was minted by the Mantis Clan and stamped with the year 1133.

The monk is here, laying a paper down before the Embassy, reverently setting up a small parasol to shield it from snow or careless spills. Then the monk is gone, leaving before anyone can speak to them.

Midori decides to take the parasol, leaving the letter.

As of Day 21, not Waito

The merchant placed the coins in the monk's hand, and to his delight, the man only smiled and handed out more.

A monk and his student were picnicking on the side of a mountain. They had walked a long distance to reach the secluded peak.

"Master," the student piped up. "How may I enter the Void?"

"Do you hear the sound of that little mountain stream?" the monk asked.

"Yes, I do," replied the student.

"Enter the Void from there," she said.

The student sat in meditation for a long time while the monk set up their meal. Finally, she returned, and asked the monk, "Master what if I had said I could not hear the mountain stream? What would your reply have been then?"

"Disciple?" the monk said.

"Yes Master?" the student responded in anticipation.

"Enter the Void from there."
